Nov 1 Missouri Trout Season closes - The last day of October marks the end of the open Missouri trout season. Montauk never closes, however several facilities will be winterized. The lodge limits their hours to Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the shower houses in the campground will be closed as the vault toilet is opened near loop four, and fishing is not allowed in any section of the park until the cacth and release season starts on the second Friday of November.Montauk State Park

Nov 9 Catch and Release Trout Season Opens - The second Friday in November marks the opening of the annual winter "Catch and Release" no creel trout season at Montauk State Park. Fishing allowed Friday through Monday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Dorman L. Steelman Lodge restaurant, snack bar, and store will be open on Friday through Sunday for limited hours of each weekend during the winter season to accommodate visitors. Some housekeeping cabins, motel rooms, and a meeting room will be available throughout the winter season.Montauk State Park

Nov 11 Stained Glass Workshop - This workshop is especially designed for individuals wanting to continue working on stained-glass piece they have started in previous workshops. Although, individuals who may want to to do only a small project that can be completed in one night may also come. Led by artist and art teacher Amber Pryor, all materials are provided to make your project to take home. There is a maximum enrollment of 8, so register early.
