Feb 1 Bald Eagle Viewing - Join us for this unique eagle-viewing event at 8:00 a.m. Watch as the eagles glide across the skies above the Montauk valley. We will hike up near an active eagle's nest in the park. A spotting scope and binoculars will be available. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Feb 1 Mental Health Break - Come take a mental health break and pet some adorable puppies! Healthy Dent County is partnering with Dent County Animal Welfare Society (DCAWS) to bring you our very first Dog Days! Come out to the Salem Community Center @ Armory and play with some puppies to unwind and de-stress. The event will be on February 1st from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. All the puppies at the event are up for adoption at DCAWS. Bring in food or blankets for the animals to be entered in to win a $50 gift card. Feb 2 Mark Twain Beekeepers Club-Beginners class - Join us in February for a class on beginning beekeeping. Cost is $25 per person or $35 a couple. Fee includes Beekeeping for Idiots Book, Handouts, and lunch. Registration deadline is Jan 18, 2019. Registration after the 18 will not receive lunch or book. Feb 14 Check out the SKY with Dent County Astronomers - Explore the night sky with Dent County Astronomers on Thursday, February 14th! Telescopes, stools, and other tools will be set up in the library's north parking lot between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM to help visitors enjoy views of the moon, planets, stars, and much more. All ages are welcome to this free event! Viewing the sky through telescopes requires clear skies.
