May 4 Mayor's Prayer Breakfast - Mayor's Prayer Breakfast sponsored by the City of Salem and the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce will be held from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM at Grace Community Church. A welcome message from the mayor will be followed by song and messages of prayer by area ministers for local, state,and federal government and the military . May 4 Spring Kids FREE Fishing Day - Spring Kids FREE Fishing Day - Children's free fishing tags can be picked up at the Hatchery Office the night before the event (from 5 - 8 PM, or all day Saturday during the event). All children must have their tag before fishing. NO daily trout tag fee will be required for children ages 15 and under on this day. May 10 thru 11 Montauk Park Mill Celebration - Montauk Park Mill Celebration - Step back into the past during this two-day event and experience lost skills, arts and crafts of the Ozarks. Mill Tours, Old time music & dance, crafts & arts of the Ozarks demonstrated, soap making, sheep shearing, and witness blacksmiths as they make steel that will be transformed into a gun barrel, a knife or horse shoes. See a real whiskey still, an Ozark quilting bee, and try your hand at using a cross cut saw. These are a few of the skills from the past waiting for you.
