The Salem Police Department's mission is to deter and detect crime in Salem, Missouri.

The Salem Police Department proudly serves a community of approximately 5,000 people, located in south central Missouri 28 miles south of I-44 .  The Department is made up of 14 full time officers with three reserve officers with five full time dispatchers. 

Our officers are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week, with several Units within the department, including a Detective Bureau, D.A.R.E Unit, a special Response Team (SRT), Traffic Safety Officer, Firearms Instructor, motorcycle officer and a K9 Unit.
