Our Community Transportation
Transportation in the area is excellent. Just 25 minutes from Interstate 44, our highways are well maintained and easily traveled. The Salem Municipal Airport offers convenient access for light aircraft. A local shuttle van is offered by SMTS at very low cost, with daily service in Salem and scheduled service to other communities and healthcare facilities.

Local service in the Salem area is available daily, Monday through Friday. Scheduled trips to Columbia (twice per month), St. Louis (three times per month), and Springfield, Missouri (once per month) are available. To insure a ride, appointments should be called in at least 2 working days before the day of the appointment.

Airport  The Salem Municipal Airport is a public-use, unmanned, general aviation airport. The airport is undergoing continuous improvements with grants from the federal government, including a newly resurfaced runway, and plans for an improved taxiway and ramp area.
