Ashley's-Outlet-Store-4th-Street
Current home of American Family Insurance

J. H. Butler had a brick building built on the entire west end of block 22. It housed the J. H. Butler and E. L. Vernon Ford Agency. Later Vernon Butler took over the business. Later Ernest E. Martin bought the business and renamed it “Martin Motor Company”. Ernest Martin then sold the business to Alva Heavin, who moved the business (Heavin Motors) to Highway 32 West in 1949, where they are presently located. The next business to occupy this location was a bowling alley. The American Sales moved into this location around 1954. After American Sales went out of business, Ashley’s Outlet moved in. The next occupant was Dr. Seth Paskon (1980’s) and the present business (2004 – 2010 present) is American Family Insurance owned by Phyllis McKinley.
